
Nicasio K'd Twelve in Asheville Win

(Savannah ,GA) Juan Nicasio struck out a career-high twelve batters and David Christensen hit his 11th homerun of the season to lead Asheville 5-1 over Savannah on Friday. The win gives Asheville (31-46, 5-3) a split of the four game series with the Tourists returning home on Saturday for an eight game homestand.
Juan Nicasio (2-1) allowed just two hits - both in the first two innings - and went on to retire 16 consecutive batters. Nicasio pitched 6 2/3 innings before being lifted with a pitch count over 100. Michael Marbry and Adam Jorgenson finished out the game in relief.
Asheville scored in the fourth inning with a Ryan Peisel double and got two more in the fifth to take a 3-0 lead. Scott Robinson singled home Carlos Martinez and Jimmy Cesario was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to plate the two runs. David Christensen smacked his 11th homerun of the year in the seventh inning giving the Tourists a 5-0 lead.
The Tourists finish the season 7-5 against the Savannah Sand Gnats and will return home to face Charleston on July 4th at 7:05. Tickets for Saturday and Sunday's fireworks are going fast and can be purchased by calling the front office at 828-258-0428
