The Mudcats wrap up a seven game home stand today with the finale of a four game set against the Frederick Keys at Five County Stadium. Carolina enters today's game in third place behind the Salem Red Sox and Myrtle Beach Pelicans in the Carolina League Southern Division Standings. The Mudcats are 19-29 and 13.0 games back of first place Salem. They are also 6.5 games back of second place Myrtle Beach. The Keys enter tonight's game at 25-24 and 6.5 games back of first place Lynchburg in the Northern Division.
Raymar Navarro will make a spot start for the Mudcats in today's series finale against the visiting Keys. Navarro is 2-1 and has pitched to a 5.00 ERA over 10 relief appearances this season. Today's start will be the first in Navarro's professional career. He last pitched on 5/25 against the Pelicans in Zebulon and worked through a career high 4.1 innings pitched. He allowed a solo home run his last time out, but managed to hold Myrtle Beach to just one run on three hits while striking out four.
Tonight's game begins at 12:00 p.m. at Five County Stadium and will air on the Mudcats Radio Network with the pregame show beginning at 11:45 a.m.
