Potomac Nationals News Release
Woodbridge, VA - The Potomac Nationals are excited to unveil Military Appreciation Jerseys that will be worn on select Sundays and some additional dates throughout the 2016 season. The camouflage style jerseys will be worn for the first time on Monday, May 30th for Memorial Day and are presented by Reality Realty and Priority Financial.
"We wanted to recognize the abundance of local military members and their families in the area and thank them for all that they do for our country," said Potomac Nationals Marketing Executive, Ricky Goykin. "Reality Realty has been a long term partner with the Potomac Nationals and we are excited to continue that partnership and highlight our military appreciation efforts."
The celebration of Military Appreciation will culminate on September 4th, when the P-Nats host the Myrtle Beach Pelicans (Chicago Cubs) on the final Sunday of the 2016 season. The jerseys will be auctioned off that night, and the proceeds will go to Homes for Heroes, a charity started by Sam Cachola of Reality Realty, a former United States Marine.
"With respect to the military rich population in the northern Virginia region, I am proud that the most patriotic team in Minor League Baseball will don military themed jerseys on select dates for the remainder of the 2016 P-Nats campaign," said Potomac General Manager of Sales Bryan Holland.
"In honor of those who have given the ultimate sacrifice and to recognize the present and future service men and women who protect our great nation, the Potomac Nationals will begin this new tradition of military appreciation on Memorial Day."
Tonight's game between the P-Nats and Winston-Salem Dash (Chicago White Sox) begins at 7:05pm at Pfitzner Stadium.
