Game #9 - Home Game #5 (3-5), (2-2)

Last time out.

The Slammers edged the Otters by a score of 3-2 Friday night. Evansville scored in the top of the second against Joliet starter Jeremy Tietze. Jon Karcich walked and advanced to third on a hit-and-run ground-out. With the infield back, Brett Chamberlain hit a slow grounder that scored Karcich. Chamberlain reached thanks to an error and the Otters loaded the bases with one out. But Tietze got out of the jam and the Slammers tied the game in the bottom of the second. Brad Netzel drove in Hector Pellot with a sacrifice fly to right field. The Otters took the lead again in the third on a DeAngelo Mack RBI single. But the Slammers responded in the sixth as Pellot hit a home run to tie the game. Joliet took the lead for good in the seventh on an Abel Nieves RBI single. Chase Doremus picked up his first professional win and Daniel Carela earned the save for the Slammers.

For Starters.
