ICYMI: Max McDowell had go-ahead two-run triple in the seventh, but the Mudcats once again failed to hold a late lead as the Blue Rocks rallied back with two in the eighth and one in the ninth en route to a series tying 6-4 victory on Friday night at Five County Stadium.

ABOUT THE LAST ONE: Daniel Brown suffered his first blown save of the season last night (0.0 IP, 1 H). Mudcats relievers have now converted just 10 of 21 save opportunities this season; therefore, converting a Carolina League low 48% of save chances. Carolina's 21 save opportunities also happen to be a CL high.

VS. ROCKS: The Mudcats continue a four game home stand tonight with game three of a four game series versus the Wilmington Blue Rocks at Five County Stadium. Wilmington won last night's game 6-4 and managed to even the four game set at 1-1. Carolina leads the overall season series 3-2. Tonight's game is the 6th of seven total games between the Mudcats and Blue Rocks this season. The Mudcats are batting .294 with 26 runs (5.2 r/g) and have pitched to a 3.89 ERA over five games against the Blue Rocks this season.

MUDCATS STARTER: LHP Cam Roegner goes for the Mudcats in tonight's game versus the visiting Blue Rocks. Roegner enters tonight's outing as the Carolina League leader in earned run average having gone 3-1 with a 1.08 ERA over six starts this season. Roegner also leads the CL in LOB% (93.6%) and GB% (59.6%). He last pitched on May 7 in Buies Creek where he turned in his team leading fourth quality start of the season. He allowed a hit in the second, but faced only three batters in the frame while going on to face the minimum through the fifth. In all, Roegner allowed just two hits, walked two and struck out six over 6.2 innings while pitching to a 78 game score... A native of Beloit, WI, Roegner was selected by the Brewers in the 22nd round of the 2016 draft out of Bradley University.

OPP STARTER: RHP Arnaldo Hernandez goes for the Blue Rocks in tonight's start in Zebulon. Hernandez is currently 4-0 and has worked to a 2.61 ERA over seven games and six starts this season. He has also won four straight starts and has totaled 19 strikeouts against 12 walks over 31.0 innings pitched. He last pitched on May 7 versus Potomac and earned a win after holding the P-Nats to three runs (two earned) on six hits over 6.0 innings pitched. He also walked one and struck out four his last time out... The Royals signed the Venezuelan born Hernandez a free agent in Sept. 2012.

STRUGGLING LATE: Mudcats pitchers have combined to pitch to a 6.85 ERA (21 R, 17 ER, 20 BB, 23 SO) in the ninth inning so far this season. They have also pitched to a 5.47 ERA (20 R, 16 ER, 15 BB, 26 SO) in the eighth and a 4.01 ERA in the seventh... Conversely, the Carolina pitching staff owns a 3.38 ERA from the 1st through 5th innings this season.

STREAKING: Dallas Carroll is currently in a season high nine game hitting streak (.382/.415/.441, 13 H, 3 R, 10 RBI). His nine game hitting streak is the longest for a Mudcats player this season.

WALK THIS WAY: The Mudcats pitching staff has combined to walk a Carolina League high 162 batters this season (tied with Buies Creek). Those 162 BB are also tied for the 2nd most in all of MiLB.

HITS AND Ks: The Carolina offense has totaled 75 more strikeouts than hits (351 SO, 276 H) so far this season. Carolina's difference in strikeouts over hits is currently tied for the 4th largest in MiLB. Since 1991, only the 2017 Mudcats and 2007 Mudcats finished a season with more strikeouts than hits. Gatewood currently leads the Shuckers with five home runs this season, but is batting just .195/.267/.364 over 33 games in Double-A this year.
