Mavs Minutes
Offensive Explosion: The Mavericks erupted for seven goals in Saturday's game against the Indy Fuel, including four in the opening frame and three in the third. It was the first time the Mavericks scored four in a period since beating Quad City 8-0 last March and was the first time since February 25, 2017 against Idaho that KC scored four in the first.
Carzo Leads the Way: Rocco Carzo spearheaded the Mavs' win on Saturday with four points on two goals and two assists. All four of the captain's points came in the opening frame - an assist on Darian Dziurzynski's game-tying goal, a short-handed goal, an assist on Jordan Ernst's first-career tally and then Carzo's second score of the game.
Mase On The Case: Mason McDonald made his season debut on Saturday, turning away 25 pucks on 27 shots faced. McDonald was activated from injured reserve on Friday, a day before his first contest of the season. The netminder made several big saves early in Saturday's game, including stoning Josh Shalla on a breakaway when the game was 0-0, and earned third star honors for the win.
No Place Like Home: The Mavericks were downright dominant at home in October, winning a pair of games by a total score of 12-3. Jared VanWormer has thrived on home ice this year, totaling six points on two goals and four assists with a plus-4 rating over those two games.
Free Willie: Defenseman Willie Raskob owns the longest scoring streak for the Mavericks entering this week of action, having recorded five assists over the last four games - one each and two against Rapid City on Oct. 20. The blue-liner joined the Mavericks this season after spending his rookie campaign with Quad City.
