BOISE, Idaho - The Idaho Steelheads (3-3-1) split the final two games of their four-game stretch against the Utah Grizzlies while opening a six-game road trip that finishes this week.

The Steelheads opened the six-game road trip with a close 3-2 loss to the Grizzlies at Maverik Center. Steelheads forward Steve McParland (6:56 1st) scored the first game-opening goal for Idaho this season to take an initial 1-0 lead. After two Grizzlies goals through the first and second periods, Steelheads forward Reid Petryk (7:56 2nd) answered the second tally eight seconds later to tie the game, 2-2. The Grizzlies added one more later in the second period, sealing the 3-2 decision. Goaltender Philippe Desrosiers (1-2-1) stopped 24 of 27 shots in the loss.

The Steelheads went back and forth during a 3-2 overtime win over the Grizzlies at Maverik Center. Steelheads forward Joe Pendenza (PP, 1:10 2nd) opened the scoring after a scoreless second period to jump out to a 1-0 lead. After a Grizzlies answer, Steelheads forward Steve McParland (4:14 3rd) pushed ahead 2-1 with his second in as many nights before a Grizzlies answer sent the game to overtime. Halfway through the frame, Steelheads forward Brad McClure (2:29 OT) sealed the 3-2 win. Netminder Philippe Desrosiers (2-2-1) turned aside 33 of 35 shots in the win.

The Steelheads continue their six-game, 12-day road trip with the final four games before heading back to Idaho early next week. The Steelheads will travel a total of 4,069 miles over their road trip and finish their run with four games over their final seven days with the eighth day for travel. The Steelheads meet the Fuel for the first and only time in franchise history while playing the first two of five games against Toledo and their lone meeting of the year against Kalamazoo. The Steelheads own a 2-0-0 record over the Walleye and are 1-1-1 against the Wings.

UPCOMING PROMOTIONS...

Bud Light $2 Wednesdays: During every Wednesday regular season home game through the end of the 2nd period of play, the Steelheads offer small $2 Bud Light to persons 21 years of age and older (not including playoffs). The first Bud Light $2 Wednesday will be the next home game on November 7.

Pepsi Puck Giveaway: On Saturday, Nov. 10, the first 1,000 fans in attendance will receive a free Steelheads puck, courtesy of Pepsi. The Steelheads host the Tulsa Oilers at 7:10 p.m.
