WEEK AHEAD

Tuesday, February 23 - Missouri Mavericks vs. Mississippi RiverKings, 7:05 p.m. CST

Missouri starts the most important week in franchise history with a game against the RiverKings Tuesday night. The Mavericks won the last matchup on February 13 by a score of 6-1. The Mavericks are 4-4-1 overall against Mississippi and only trail the RiverKings by four points in the standings with 13 games remaining.

Friday, February 26 - Missouri Mavericks vs. Tulsa Oilers, 7:05 p.m. CST

Friday's game marks the third game in the past two weeks between the Mavericks and Oilers. Missouri won both contests last week and is 4-2-1 this season against the Oilers. The Mavericks trail Tulsa by just one point in the standings for the fifth and final playoff spot in the Northern Conference. Forward Jeff Christian leads the Mavericks in scoring against his former team with 10 points (4-6=10) and Aaron Davis leads all scorers in the series with 11 points (4-7=11) against the Mavericks.

Saturday, February 27 - Missouri Mavericks vs. Wichita Thunder, 7:05 p.m. CST

The Mavericks continue a three-in-three Saturday night when they host the Wichita Thunder in the last game between the teams at Independence Events Center this season. Missouri has not lost to the Thunder this season going 8-0-0 and outscoring the Thunder 33-9. The teams will meet one more time in Wichita on Sunday, March 14.

Sunday, February 28 - Missouri Mavericks at Texas Brahmas, 4:05 p.m. CST

Missouri plays the defending champion Texas Brahmas Sunday afternoon in the only matchup of the season between the two teams. Mavericks' forward Braden Walls played in six games this season for the Brahmas before coming to Missouri. Texas is currently in third place in the Southern Conference, but the Brahmas have won eight of their past 10 games.

Tuesday, February 16 - Missouri 4 at Tulsa 3 - Shootout

The Missouri Mavericks defeated the Tulsa Oilers, 4-3, in a shootout Tuesday night at BOK Center in a pivotal Northern Conference matchup. Jordan Foreman scored the game-winning goal in the shootout for Missouri, and Simon Watson and Derek Pallardy each had a pair of assists. Oilers' forward Jake Riddle had a pair of power play goals in the loss.

Thursday, February 18 - Missouri 4 vs. Tulsa 1

The Missouri Mavericks won their fourth straight game Thursday night, 4-1, over the Tulsa Oilers at Independence Events Center. The win streak marked the longest such streak this season, and the team set a record with 50 shots on goal. Four different players scored goals for the Mavericks and goaltender Gerry Festa stopped 21 of 22 shots for his fourth win of the season.

Saturday, February 20 - Missouri 6 vs. Mississippi 1

The Missouri Mavericks' four-game win streak came to an end Saturday night in a 5-2 loss to the Amarillo Gorillas at Amarillo Civic Center. Gorillas' forward Joe Guenther led all scorers with three points on two goals and an assist including the game-winning goal. Mike Brown stopped 39 of 41 shots in net for Amarillo who improved to 18-26-8 on the season. Karl Sellan and Simon Watson scored goals for the Mavericks as the team fell to 24-23-4.

Season tickets on sale - Mavericks 2010-11 season tickets are now on sale and start as low as $10 per game. The Mavericks require a $50 non-refundable deposit per seat which secures a high priority number. Seat selection for all new season tickets will take place after the Mavericks' current season. Call the Mavericks front office at (816) 252-7825 to secure season tickets for next season.

ZOOperstars! - The ZOOperstars! are coming to Independence Events Center this Friday, February 26 when the Mavericks host the Tulsa Oilers. The ZOOperstars! have been featured on America's Got Talent and have been called the "fastest growing entertainment act" in the country. Join Mackerel Jordan, Whale Gretzky, Bobby Orrangutang, Shark McGwire and Dennis Frogman this Friday at the IEC.

Two-for-Tuesday - Tuesday's game against the Mississippi RiverKings is another Price Chopper "Two-for-Tuesday" in which fans can purchase two terrace or club level tickets for the price of one. Fans must come to the Box Office on Tuesday and show their Price Chopper card to take advantage of the special offer.

Playoff look -Missouri is currently in sixth place in the Northern Conference, just one point below Tulsa and four points below Mississippi. The Mavericks have 13 games remaining on their schedule, and eight of those games are at Independence Events Center.

Three-in-threes - The Mavericks have 13 games remaining on their schedule and the team will play nine of those games in which the team plays three games in three nights. Missouri takes on Tulsa, Wichita and Texas this weekend for the first of three straight weekends in which the team will play three games in three nights.
