Odessa Jackalopes News Release
(Odessa, TX) - The Central Hockey League's Odessa Jackalopes announced on Monday that the franchise will welcome back six former players during their second-annual Legends' Weekend, which will kick off Friday and conclude Saturday as the Jacks host CHL Southern Conference rival Amarillo both nights at the Ector County Coliseum.
John Bossio, Don Margettie, Mike Rutter, Michael Tornquist, Joe Harris and Rob Lukacs will be honored by the organization over the weekend, which will include autographs for fans Friday and an in-game ceremony Saturday night, led by former Jackalopes broadcaster Bob Hards.
The Jackalopes will wear a special throwback jersey both nights, and conduct a post-game jersey auction on Saturday that will include the six returning players and current team.
"This is turning into something that the fans really enjoy," said Jackalopes GM Joe Clark. "To re-live old times with the fans will be very special to these players. It was last year, and that's why we've turned this into an annual event."
Several of last season's legends, Billy Pye, Shane LeBreton, Dan Lavergne, Paul Fioroni, Nick Lamia, Adam Doyle and Rick Girhiny, will be on hand this weekend as well.
