Arizona Sundogs News Release
The Arizona Sundogs closed out their rare six games in seven days schedule stretch with a 4-1-1 record capturing nine of a possible 12 points in the Southern Conference standings.
The Sundogs had a three-game winning streak snapped in a 4-3 loss to the league-leading Odessa Jackalopes on Tuesday, Feb. 16 before falling to the expansion Allen Americans in overtime, 3-2, the following night. On Thursday, Arizona earned its first win against the expansion club, topping Texas' newest franchise by a 3-2 mark.
Arizona has played in 13 straight one-goal games heading into this week's games against the Rapid City Rush (Wednesday, 6:35pm), the Colorado Eagles (Friday, 7:05pm) and the Wichita Thunder (Sunday, 4:05pm).
Sundogs Storylines:
- The Sundogs have played in 13 consecutive one-goal games going 6-4-3 and collecting 15 of a possible 26 points.
- Arizona leads the CHL in one-goal games having played in 29 contests that are decided by one tally.
- The Sundogs closed out their six games in seven days schedule stretch with a 4-1-1 record earning nine of a possible 12 points.
- Arizona currently owns the league's longest road winning streak at five games dating back to a 6-5 shootout win over the Odessa Jackalopes on January 30. The Sundogs are unbeaten in their last six road contests (5-0-1) dating back to a 2-1 overtime loss to the Jackalopes on January 29.
- The Sundogs welcomed their 500,000th fan on Tuesday, Feb. 16 as the team hosted the Odessa Jackalopes. Shelley Pike, joined by her husband, Bob, was the lucky fan who entered the arena becoming the 500,000th fan in team history. Selected as the half-millionth fan, Pike received a prize package valued at nearly $6,000 including a Samsung 4.5 cu. ft. Extra Large Front Load Steam Washer and 7.4 cu. ft. Super Capacity Front Load Gas Steam Dryer, courtesy of Best Buy, a 4-day, 3-night stay in Baja California, Mexico, courtesy of SanFelipeVacations.com, a Motorola Droid cell phone and all accessories, courtesy of Verizon Wireless, a pair of roundtrip airline tickets from Prescott to either Denver, Colorado or Ontario, California, courtesy of Great Lakes Airlines and two End Section season tickets for the Arizona Sundogs' 2010-2011 season.
- Arizona remains winless in overtime this season in five tries. However, the Sundogs are 5-1 when the game goes to a shootout.
- Arizona has yet to lose a game in regulation when leading after two periods of play (17-0-1).
- The Sundogs are 8-1-1 when scoring five or more goals in a game.
- The Sundogs are three games above.500 (13-10-3) away from Tim's Toyota Center. Arizona is one of eight teams in the CHL with a winning road record and the only team in the league with a winning road record and losing home record.
- Konrad Reeder leads the team in goals (21) and points (44). The Vanderhoof, British Columbia, native has two goals and an assist and is plus-2 in his last two games.
- Kyle Hood is riding a five-game point streak (1g/5a) and has 14 points (2g/12a) and is plus-6 in his last 13 games. The Osoyoos, British Columbia, native ranks second on the team in scoring with 41 points (11g/30a).
- Torren Delforte has six points (2g/4a) in his last six games after returning from a stint on the 14-day I.R.
- Linus Fagemo has eight goals in his last 10 games and ranks second on the team with 19 goals.
