San Bernardino, CA- The High Desert Mavericks scored early and often on Saturday versus the Inland Empire 66ers and eventually downed the Sixers 12-1 at San Manuel Stadium. The Mavericks opened a 9-0 lead against the Sixers through four innings and remain undefeated against Inland Empire in ten games this year.

The Mavericks pounded out 13 hits against the Sixers and got a three-hit night from Jeremi Profar as well as two-hit games from Scott Heineman, Travis Demeritte, Josh Morgan and Michael De Leon. Heineman and Demeritte each had three RBI in the win. High Desert (39-23) remained one game ahead of Rancho Cucamonga in the first-half title hunt for the California League's Southern Division.

Inland Empire (20-42) starter Garrett Nuss (0-2) took the loss. He allowed seven earned runs on seven hits in two innings with two Ks, five walks and a hit batsman. Keynan Middleton and Josh Roenicke did combine to give the Sixers four innings of no-hit work out of the pen with seven Ks and no walks.

Righty Ariel Jurado coasted to a win for the Mavericks allowing just one run in five innings. He surrendered four hits, two walks and tallied four Ks to improve to 5-1. Wade Wass, Jeff Boehm and Ayendy Perez all had two hit nights for the Sixers. Inland Empire's lone run came on a RBI walk by Josh Delph.
