
Lancaster Drops Third Straight In Visalia

VISALIA, Calif. - Scott Weathersby pitched into the seventh inning but allowed five runs on eight hits as the JetHawks fell to the Visalia Rawhide, 5-2, on Saturday night at Recreation Park.
Lancaster (32-29) struck first with a run in the second inning. Bryan Muniz singled to start the rally and eventually scored on an Aaron Mizell single.
The Rawhide (40-21) answered with two runs in the bottom of the second and added two more on a Domingo Leyba home run in the fifth.
Starter Scott Weathersby (2-4) allowed his final run on a solo Dawel Lugo home run in the sixth. Weathersby pitched into the seventh, going a career-high 6.1 innings. He allowed a total of five runs on eight hits.
Visalia starter Brad Keller (5-4) allowed one run on four hits. He struck out four and walked one.
The JetHawks got their final run in the seventh against reliever Will Locante. Brooks Marlow led off the inning with a double and eventually came home on one of two Locante wild pitches.
Bud Jeter struck out the side in the ninth for his eighth save.
Lancaster will look to avoid a four-game sweep on Sunday afternoon at Recreation Park. Matt Bower (2-1) will take the mound against Ethan Elias (3-3). First pitch is 1 p.m.
