INDEPENDENCE, MISSOURI - The Missouri Mavericks first post-season game of the ECHL Kelly Cup Playoffs will be broadcast live on Kansas City's KSMO-TV this Saturday, Apr. 16 at 7:05p.m. (CDT). The Mavs teamed-up with KSMO and KCTV 5 earlier this season in their first-ever television partnership-- bringing four prior home games to screens across the metro.
"KSMO and KCTV 5 are excited to continue our partnership with the Missouri Mavericks and showcase select playoff games to our broad television audience," said KCTV5 and KSMO-TV Vice President/General Manager, Mike Cukyne. "There was tremendous response to the first four broadcasts and we are excited for our stations to continue to be at the forefront of bringing hockey to potential fans around the metro as the sport of hockey grows in popularity in Kansas City."
The deal includes the potential for future home playoff game broadcasts as well.
