MANCHESTER, N.H. - Manchester Monarchs Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations, Rich Seeley, announced that Matt Leitner has been returned from loan by the Ontario Reign (AHL).

Leitner, 25, returns to the Monarchs after playing in 15 games for the Reign in his second career call-up to the AHL, where he scored four points on four assists. Previously, Leitner was loaned to the Milwaukee Admirals and made his AHL debut Jan. 23 against the Lake Erie Monsters.

With the Monarchs this season, Leitner scored 49 points in 51 games (12g, 37a). Despite missing 21 ECHL games, Leitner finished 3rd in assists (37) and 10th in points for rookie skaters, and was tied for 2nd on the Monarchs in points.

The Los Alamitos, Calif. native played in 149 games collegiately at Minnesota State University-Mankato, scoring 162 points on 49 goals and 113 assists while on campus. After the 2014-15 season, Leitner was named to the NCAA (West) First All-American Team.

Leitner and the Monarchs are back in action Friday night (7 p.m.), when look to even the best-of-seven series with the Adirondack Thunder in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals from the Verizon Wireless Arena.
