Mavericks Announce USA "Miracle" Weekend

INDEPENDENCE, Missouri - The Missouri Mavericks are excited to announce a USA "Miracle" Weekend, January 31st through February 1st, welcoming four members of the 1980 Gold Medal USA Olympic Ice Hockey Team to the Independence Events Center, for a special event benefiting the UnCommon Community Program and Scholarship Fund with KC Ice.

During this two-day event, fans will have the opportunity to have their picture taken with a gold medal from the famous "Miracle" Olympic game, bid on one-of-a-kind items in a silent auction, and meet Olympians Ken Morrow, Dave Christian, Buzz Schneider, and Captain Mike Eruzione during a once in a lifetime meet and greet session.

Fans are invited to join in this celebration of hockey and opening of the 2014 Winter Games with members of the 1980 "Miracle on Ice" USA Olympic Gold Medal Team and create their own "Miracle" memory with the Missouri Mavericks. Olympic Gold Medal Champion, four-time Stanley Cup Champion, and fellow Kansas Citian, Ken Morrow, has invited his teammates to join him in promoting the New Rink at Burlington Creek and their Uncommon Community Charitable Mission.

Friday, January 31st, -- Mavericks vs Denver Cutthroats - 7:05PM - Independence Events Center

Mavericks' USA youth jersey giveaway to the first 750 fans aged 14 and under. Doors open at 5:30pm

Fans can take their picture with Ken Morrow's Olympic Gold medal before and during the game.

Silent auction items will be on display as a special preview for Saturday night's bidding.

Saturday, February 1st - "Do You Believe in Miracles" event - Outdoor rink at Burlington Creek

1:00PM-4:00PM - Get tickets to the VIP Hospitality Room at The Rink at Burlington Creek - Food, beverages, and hockey stories with four living legends!

2:00-3:00PM - Open Public Skate with the "Miracle on Ice" Legends. Bring your Team USA jersey and receive $5 OFF your event pass.

3:00-4:00PM - Play pond hockey against the 1980 Olympic Legends and get your USA autographed Hockey Jersey. (Limited availability).

Saturday, February 1st - Mavericks vs Quad City Mallards - 7:05PM - Independence Events Center

6:00-6:45PM - Meet and Greet session with 1980 Olympians: Ken Morrow, Dave Christian, Buzz Schneider, and Captain Mike Eruzione on the Independence Events Center concourse. Limit 1 autograph item per person.

VIP Private Suite Seats available with the players-suite tickets include food and one-of-a-kind autographed collectables! Doors open at 5:30pm. (Suite ticket information below.)

Silent auction on the arena concourse before and during the Mavericks game.

Special pre-game and intermission Olympic celebration with all four "Miracle" players and Mavericks defensemen and 2014 Team Norway Olympian, Henrik - degaard.
