Mavericks Announce Schedule for 2013-14 Season

INDEPENDENCE, Missouri - The Missouri Mavericks, in conjunction with the Central Hockey League (CHL), announced Friday the 2013-14 regular season schedule. The Mavericks will open up their fifth season on Saturday, October 19 in St. Charles, Missouri against the St. Charles Chill. Missouri will open the home portion of the schedule on Saturday, November 2 against the Denver Cutthroats at Independence Events Center. The 2013-14 schedule consists of 66 games - 33 at Independence Events Center and 33 road contests. The Mavericks' home schedule features 28 âweekend' games (11 Fridays, 14 Saturdays, 3 Sunday), and all non-Sunday games will begin at 7:05 p.m.
Individual tickets for all 33 regular season home games will go on sale on Saturday, September 21 at 11 a.m. at Fan Fest at Independence Events Center. All individual tickets are available through Ticketmaster. Season tickets are on sale now and Mavericks mini-plans will go on sale Wednesday, September 4 though the Mavericks front office by calling 816-252-7825.
The Mavericks will continue many of their popular promotions for the 2013-14 season including Price Chopper Two-for-Tuesdays, Freedom Fridays and Family 4-Packs. The Mavericks will also have many giveaways this year including adult and youth jerseys, cowbells, bobble heads and many more. The Mavericks will face off against the Quad City Mallards and Wichita Thunder more than any other team this season, a total of 10 times each. The Tulsa Oilers are the next most common opponent as the Mavs will face them 9 times. Every team in the CHL will visit Independence Events Center and Missouri will travel to every city in the league as well.
Missouri will begin the season tied with the longest road trip at five games when they travel to St. Charles, Arizona and Tulsa before the home opener on November 2. They also have a five game road trip to end February when they travel to Quad City, Denver, and St. Charles from February 19-28. The Mavericks' longest home stand is five games (twice). The first begins Friday, November 22 against the St. Charles Chill and ends 8 days later against the Wichita Thunder. The second starts on New Year's Eve when the team hosts the Tulsa Oilers and ends on January 11 against the Rapid City Rush.
