
2013-14 Regular Season Schedule Released

GLENDALE, AZ - The Central Hockey League's 2013-14 schedule has been officially released with the 330-game season beginning on Friday, October 18 in three locations and concluding on Sunday, March 30, also in three locations.
The CHL's 10 member teams will all play in the Berry Conference with participating teams made up of the Allen Americans, Arizona Sundogs, Brampton Beast, Denver Cutthroats, Missouri Mavericks, Quad City Mallards, Rapid City Rush, St. Charles Chill, Tulsa Oilers and Wichita Thunder.
Each of the CHL's clubs will play a 66-game schedule with 33 home games and 33 road games. Weekends comprise a large majority of the schedule as 74% of the games will be played on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays (245 of the 330 games will occur over the weekends) and 64% of the games are played on the prime nights of Fridays and Saturdays.
The expansion Brampton Beast highlight opening night as the first puck drop of the 2013-14 season will take place in the Powerade Centre in Brampton when East meets West as the Beast host the Arizona Sundogs.
The other expansion club, the St. Charles Chill, will open their season on home ice at The Family Arena on Saturday, October 19 when they host their cross-state rivals, the Missouri Mavericks in the first of eight head-to-head meetings between the two clubs.
The defending Ray Miron Presidents' Cup Champion Allen Americans will raise the banner in a Finals rematch on Sunday, October 20 against the Wichita Thunder and in total will go head-to-head with the Thunder eight times.
New Year's Eve will be busy as four locations will ring in the new year with on-ice action. The Wichita Thunder will play at the Allen Americans, the Rapid City Rush will play at the St. Charles Chill, Denver Cutthroats will play at the Arizona Sundogs and the Tulsa Oilers will play at the Missouri Mavericks.
Three games will be played on Martin Luther King Day (January 20) with the Allen Americans hosting the Arizona Sundogs, the Brampton Beast hosting the St. Charles Chill and the Rapid City Rush hosting the Denver Cutthroats.
Presidents' Day (February 17) will see three games as well with the Beast hosting the Wichita Thunder, the Cutthroats hosting the Allen Americans and the Rapid City Rush dropping the puck in the home of Mount Rushmore with a tilt against the St. Charles Chill.
Both the Allen Americans and Missouri Mavericks are celebrating milestone seasons in 2013-14 playing in their fifth seasons. Both clubs have a special fifth anniversary logo to commemorate the season.

2013-14 Central Hockey League Schedule Highlights
October 18 -The Brampton Beast drop the puck in the first game on the 2013-14 schedule when they host the Arizona Sundogs. Separated by nearly 2,200 miles, the Beast and Sundogs represent the furthest East and West teams in the CHL.
October 19 -The St. Charles Chill play their first ever game when they host their cross-state rivals, the Missouri Mavericks. -The Allen Americans and the Wichita Thunder battle in the first of eight meetings during the regular season between the two teams who battled to overtime in Game 7 of the CHL Finals last May.
October 20 -The Allen Americans open their home schedule when they play the Thunder and will skate in front of the home fans for the first time since winning the Cup on May 11.
October 25 -The Rapid City Rush play their first home game when they host the Brampton Beast who are coached by former Rush Assistant Coach Mark DeSantis.
October 26 -The Quad City Mallards host the St. Charles Chill in the first of 14 meetings between the two teams separated by just 275 miles. -The Allen Americans visit the Tulsa Oilers in the Oilers home opener and in a game that will have forward Todd Robinson, a playoff hero for the Americans in May, now dressing for the Oilers.
November 8 -The Missouri Mavericks host the Wichita Thunder in the first of 10 head-to-head meetings between the two rivals.
November 20 -The two expansion clubs for the 2013-14 season go head-to-head for the first time when the Brampton Beast visit the St. Charles Chill.
November 27 -The night before Thanksgiving features a full slate of games with Allen playing at Arizona, Quad City at Missouri, Denver at Rapid City, Tulsa at St Charles and Brampton at Wichita.
December 31 -New Year's Eve this season features four games with Allen hosting Wichita, Arizona hosting Denver, St. Charles hosting Rapid City and Missouri hosting Tulsa.
January 3/4 The Denver Cutthroats, removed from the Denver Coliseum for the month of January for the annual stock show, play the Tulsa Oilers in a pair of games in Aspen, Colorado.
January 18 The Brampton Beast, the first Central Hockey League Canadian franchise, host the St. Charles Chill on Hockey Day in Canada.
January 20 Martin Luther King Day will feature three games highlighted by the Allen Americans annual MLK Day matinee titl as they'll host the Sundogs. Denver also plays at Rapid City and St. Charles is at Brampton.
January 24/25 The Cutthroats are once again hosting a game in an alternate venue as the Arizona Sundogs come to Vail, Colorado to square-off against the Fish.
February 14 There will be no love lost on Valentine's Day this season with five games scheduled including a match-up between the Americans and the Mavericks (the two teams played a 7-game series in last year's conference semifinals, won by Allen). Other V-Day games include Wichita at Brampton, St. Charles at Denver, Rapid City at Quad City and Arizona at Tulsa.
February 17 -The home to Mount Rushmore is the perfect place for a Presidents' Day hockey game as the Rapid City Rush will host the St. Charles Chill. Also on Pres' Day the Denver Cutthroats host the Allen Americans and the Brampton Beast host the Wichita Thunder.
February 28-March 2 Hockey Weekend Across America has captured the attention of the country for several seasons and this year the CHL will showcase 13 games capped by three contests on Hockey Day in America (Mar. 2) when the Cutthroats host the Rush, the Thunder host the Sundogs and the Mavericks host the Chill.
March 30 Playoff spots could be up for grabs as the final day of the regular season features three games with the Beast hosting the Rush, the Mallards hosting the Mavericks and the Oilers hoisting the Cutthroats.
