Oilers Release 2013-14 Regular Season Schedule

July 26, 2013 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Tulsa Oilers News Release

TULSA, OK - The Central Hockey League released its full schedule for the 2013-14 season on Friday afternoon and the Tulsa Oilers will begin their 22nd season of hockey on the road against the Denver Cutthroats on October 18.

Tulsa's home opener is slated for Saturday, October 26th when the Oilers will welcome the Allen Americans to the BOK Center. The Oilers will play 33 home games during the regular season and the top eight teams in the CHL standings will qualify for the postseason.

Eight of the Oilers first 12 games will be on home ice and the Oilers will also finish the regular season at home on March 30, 2014 against Denver.

Tulsa's first meeting with arch-rival Wichita is November 6 at the BOK Center and the two clubs will clash a total of 14 times - seven games in Tulsa, seven games in Wichita - over the course of the season. Other regional rivalries will be strengthened as well with the Oilers taking on Allen 11 times and facing off against the Missouri Mavericks in nine contests.

In mid-December, the Oilers will make their one and only trip to visit the expansion Brampton Beast. Tulsa will play three games in four days in Brampton. The CHL's other expansion franchise, the St. Charles Chill, will meet the Oilers a total of five times. With just four meetings on the schedule, the Quad City Mallards are the Oilers least-frequent opponent for the 2013-14 season.

Holiday dates for the Oilers include a Black Friday (Nov. 29) trip to Missouri, a home tilt with Allen on the day after Christmas, a visit to Missouri on New Year's Eve, and a Valentine's Day contest against Arizona at the BOK Center.

The Oilers will play more games on Saturday's (23) than any other day of the week and will suit up for just four weekday (Mon.-Thurs.) home games throughout the season.
