
Mavericks 2015-16 Full Season Schedule Released

INDEPENDENCE, MO (April 27, 2015) -- The Missouri Mavericks full schedule for the 2015-16 season was released Monday afternoon. The Mavericks will open their seventh season as a franchise, and second season as a member of the ECHL, with a historic first-ever trip to Anchorage, Alaska to take on the Alaska Aces in a three-game series.
Missouri will play a total of seventy-two (72) games during their 2015-16 regular season campaign, with an even split of thirty-six (36) games on home ice at Independence Events Center and on the road.
The Mavs home game schedule was released on Friday, April 22nd, an announcement that included nine games against first-time ECHL visitors to the Mavs home ice-five (5) games versus the Indy Fuel, two (2) games against the Cincinnati Cyclones, Colorado Eagles and South Carolina Stingrays.
The Mavericks road game schedule adds to that list of first-time opponents as the Mavs travel to visit the Alaska Aces to start the season on October, 16th and close their regular season versus the Idaho Steelheads in Boise, Idaho the weekend of April 8th.
Missouri will battle for a spot in the 2016 Kelly Cup Playoffs against Central Division opponents including longtime rivals the Wichita Thunder, Allen Americans, and Tulsa Oilers.

The ECHL began in 1988-89 with five teams in four states, the ECHL has grown into a coast-to-coast league with 28 teams in 21 states and one Canadian province heading into its 28th season in 2015-16. There have been 554 players who have gone on to play in the National Hockey League after starting their careers in the ECHL, including 13 who made their NHL debuts in the 2013-14 season. The ECHL had affiliations with 29 of the 30 NHL teams in 2014-15, marking the 18th consecutive season that the league had affiliations with at least 20 teams in the NHL.
