Matt Holliday Signs with Colorado Rockies

The Colorado Rockies announced today that they have agreed to terms with Matt Holliday on a Minor League contract. Holliday has reported to the Grand Junction Rockies.

Holliday, 38, was originally selected by the Rockies in the 1998 First-Year Player Draft. In parts of five seasons with the Major League club, he batted .319 (848-for-2656) with 479 runs, 188 doubles, 23 triples, 128 home runs, 483 RBI and 66 stolen bases.

The Stillwater, Okla., native was an integral part of the 2007 National League Champion Rockies, finishing second in the National League MVP voting after batting a league-leading .340 (216-for-636) with 120 runs, 50 doubles, six triples, 36 home runs and 137 RBI while leading the Rockies to the World Series.

The seven-time All-Star has batted .299 (2081-for-6956) with 1154 runs, 466 doubles, 32 triples, 314 home runs and 1217 RBI in 1878 games across parts of 14 seasons with Colorado (2004-08), Oakland (2009), St. Louis (2009-16) and New York-AL (2017).
