The Grand Junction Rockies won for the 10th time in 12 games after taking down the Orem Owlz 7-1 Sunday afternoon at Suplizio Field.

Nonie Williams started the game with a double off Ryan Rolison and scored on Mitch Spires' ground out, but the Owlz had just two hits the rest of the game as Rolison struck out six in four innings.

The Rockies were held hitless over the game's first three innings, but with the help of three errors in the bottom of the fourth, they finally broke through. Grant Lavigne singled home Coco Montes to tie the game at one. After Niko Decolati walked, Javier Guevara drove home Lavigne with a single and an error in right field by Cam Williams allowed Decolati to come in. The Rockies added to the lead in the fifth after Michael Agis retired the Owlz in order.

Jeff Moberg and Will Golsan started the inning with back-to-back doubles, making it 4-1, then with one out a Coco Montes sacrifice fly brought home Golsan. Following a single from Lavigne, Decolati hit his fifth home run of the season, giving the Rockies a six run lead.

Agis tossed a 1-2-3 inning again in the sixth, and Jesse Lepore followed with two scoreless innings. Colton Harlow ran into a bases loaded jam, but worked out of it, getting a double play to end the game.

The win improves the Rockies to 4-1 in the second half, 24-19 overall.

Golsan's double increased his hitting streak to 10 games and his on base streak to 19 games.

Lavigne finished with two hits and a walk, and he now leads the league with a .388 batting average.

The Rockies will continue their 5-game homestand Monday night when they host the Ogden Raptors in the opening game of a 3-game series at Suplzio Field. The first pitch is set for 6:40.
