Matt Albers & Manny Piña Join Rattlers for Rehab Assignm Ents

GRAND CHUTE, WI - The Milwaukee Brewers have announced that reliever Matt Albers and catcher Manny Piña will join the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers on MLB rehabilitation assignments this week. Albers is scheduled to pitch in relief on tonight and Saturday night. Piña is scheduled to be the designated hitter for the Rattlers on Thursday.
Albers was placed on Milwaukee's ten-day DL on June 12 with a shoulder injury. He was 3-2 with a save and a 3.45ERA in 25 relief appearances for the Brewers before the injury.
Piña injured his left bicep during a plate appearance against Atlanta on July 6. He was placed on Milwaukee's ten-day DL on July 8 retroactively to July 7. Piña had been hitting .227 with six homers and 16 RBI for the Brewers prior to the injury.
Rookie pitcher Freddy Peralta, who is not on a rehab assignment from the Brewers, is already scheduled to as the starting pitcher for the Timber Rattlers on Wednesday. Game time is 7:05pm tonight.
