The Latest on the Team
While Republic FC will aim to put their performance against San Diego in the rear-view mirror, the club continued to manufacture chances to score at an impressive rate. Since the club's 0-0 draw with Oakland on August 11, the Boys in Old Glory Red have averaged over 20 shots per game, including 23 on Saturday, which was their second highest total of the season.
Mark Briggs will be eager to further integrate the team's new midfield addition in Emil Cuello into the lineup. Cuello made an immediate impact in his first appearance with the team since coming over from San Antonio, generating two scoring chances and posting three shots in 45 minutes.
How About Our Opponents?
LA Galaxy II enters Wednesday's meeting with the Indomitable Club as victors in three of their last five. They'll look to make it two in a row after taking down Las Vegas lights FC 3-2 on Friday; a match that saw the SoCal side put nine of 28 shots on target and generate 25 close range opportunities.
Keeping Galaxy II contained on the offensive end will be crucial for Republic FC's defensive unit, as the SoCal side has logged at least 20 shots in all but two of their wins this season. The attacking duo of Jorge Hernandez and Preston Judd will need to be accounted for, as the pair has combined to score in four of the club's last five contests.
Head to Head
Wednesday will be the 23rd all-time meeting between the two clubs- more than any other opponent for Republic FC since entering the league in 2014. Ahead of this week's contest, Republic FC has a record of 11 wins, five losses, and six ties.
Republic FC has been especially good on the road against Los Angeles on the road. Sacramento has defeated Galaxy II seven times, and outscored them 17-9 in 11 contests.
