Big Time Win In their first match in nearly three weeks, SAFC defeated the first place El Paso Locomotive 2-1 at Toyota Field last Saturday. SAFC recorded 13 shots (eight on target) compared to El Paso's nine shots (four on target), while the Alamo City club also created four more chances (13-9). The win was the first against El Paso for SAFC this season and just second overall. With the victory, SAFC is now 7-0-4 when scoring first, 6-0-0 when scoring in both halves and 7-0-1 when scoring multiple goals.

100 in Sight SAFC goalkeeper Matthew Cardone is now the all-time USL regular season appearance holder for SAFC. Cardone currently sits at 95 USL matches, one playoff match and three Open Cup matches, giving him 99 total appearances for the club. Cardone is scheduled to make his 100th appearance on 9/1/21 vs. Real Monarchs at Toyota Field, making him the second SAFC player to ever achieve that record. The San Antonio native trails only former SAFC defender Greg Cochrane in all-time appearances for the club. Cochrane amassed 102 appearances and 8,850 minutes in three seasons with the club in all competitions from 2016-18.

San Antonio FC: 7-5-6 (27 pts, 4th Mountain Division)

Real Monarchs SLC: 4-11-4 (16 pts, 7th Mountain Division)

All-time Series: SAFC is 5-2-3 against the Monarchs all-time and the club has never lost at home to the Utah side, recording a 3-0-2 record against them at Toyota Field.
