SAN ANTONIO, Texas - Real Monarchs head South to Texas to take on San Antonio FC at Toyota Field on Wednesday, September 1. Kickoff is set for 6:30p MT and streamed live on ESPN+.

Head-to-Head: San Antonio FC has the advantage over Real Monarchs with an all-time record of 5-2-3 in 10 matches played, including a 3-0-2 record at Toyota Field.
The previous match between the two sides ended in a 1-1 draw at Zions Bank Stadium on Saturday, June 26. Douglas Martínez recorded his first goal of the season for the Monarchs in the first half, but San Antonio FC went on to find the equalizer in the 77th minute. It also marked the professional debut for goalkeeper Gavin Beavers.
Connections: San Antonio FC winger Sam Gleadle spent part of his youth career with Real Salt Lake in 2013. In addition, Gleadle was in the 18 for Reno 1868 FC in the 2018 USL Championship Western Conference Quarter-Finals in a 1-0 win over a Monarchs squad that featured James Moberg. Gleadle went on to sign for MLS side Minnesota United in 2020, but was released ahead of the 2021 campaign before signing with San Antonio.
Notes: In what will be the 11th meeting between the two clubs, the Monarchs will look to earn its first-ever victory in San Antonio. Real Monarchs are 27-48-17 all-time on the road, while San Antonio FC is 45-12-25 all-time at home.
