
Match Preview: NYRB II Host Birmingham Legion FC to Conclude May Schedule

HARRISON, N.J. - New York Red Bulls II (1-9-1, 4 points) will host Birmingham Legion FC (3-4-4, 13 points) on Friday, May 27. Kickoff from MSU Soccer Park is slated for 7:00 p.m. ET with coverage on ESPN+.
The two sides will meet for the first time since the 2019 season, with the all-time series split at one win each. The home club has won each meeting, with Red Bulls II winning the only match at MSU Soccer Park 5-0.
Red Bulls II will look to bounce back after falling 2-0 to the Indy Eleven on Saturday, May 21. Birmingham played to a scoreless draw with Las Vegas Lights FC in their last match on Wednesday, May 18.
Prosper Kasim leads the way for the Legion with three goals and an assist. He scored in the most recent meeting between the two sides, a 2-1 victory for Birmingham in October of 2019. Goalkeeper Matt Van Oekel is tied for fourth in USL Championship with 21 saves over 11 matches.
New York ranks 13th in the Eastern Conference while Birmingham sits 8th.
Following the match, New York will face San Diego Loyal SC for the first time on Thursday, June 2, at Red Bull Arena. Kickoff in Harrison is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. ET, with coverage available on ESPN+.
