The Spark They Needed:
Rio Grande Valley F.C fed off the momentum leading into their matchup against San Diego Loyal and capitalized at H-E-B Park as they locked in their second consecutive win to lift their spirits even higher. Emilio Ycaza scored a brace in the match and locked in a Week 11 - USL Team of the Week nomination along with winger Jonathan Ricketts. The two goals by Ycaza placed him into the mix if top scorer for RGV as he now totals three goals on the season, all which came from the past two weeks of action.
There is no doubt that the return of veteran defender Erik Pimentel solidified the back line and the pace on the pitch has taken a turn for the better as more attacking is starting to culminate into goals for the Toros. As more pieces start becoming available for Wilmer Cabrera's side the hunt for a playoff spot starts becoming the true focus.
San Antonio F.C
The South Texas Derby is known for one of two things, physicality, and intensity on the pitch. The last visit from San Antonio left a sour taste in the mouth of RGV FC as the visitors landed a 2-1 victory at
H-E-B Park. After a pause in play due to complications in their schedule, the SAFC squad looks to once again spoil the home party for RGV and continue their quest to land a top spot in the Western Conference, currently sitting at the two spot.
