Phoenix Rising flies east this Saturday to square up with Hartford Athletic. The match kicks off at 4:00 p.m. and can be viewed on Bally Sports Arizona and streamed on ESPN+.
The club comes into the match having lost its last two games. The latest was a 7-0 loss to New Mexico United, originally scheduled for Saturday, May 21, but played on Tuesday, May 24.
Six Rising Academy players made their first-team debuts and a total of seven players appeared in the losing effort. The young players were pressed into action because several Rising players were in isolation due to the league's Covid-19 protocols.
Hartford Athletic also had its last match postponed because of Covid-19 health and safety protocols (FC Tulsa couldn't field a team). But unlike Phoenix Rising, the canceled match wasn't rescheduled three days later. But Hartford has won its last two matches after beginning the season with six losses in their first seven games.
Saturday will mark the first meeting between the two clubs.
