HARRISON, N.J. - The New York Red Bulls (11-9-4, 37 pts) visit the top team in MLS, LAFC (16-3-4, 52 pts), for a nationally televised game on Sunday at Banc of California Stadium. Kickoff is slated for 10 p.m. EST with coverage on FS1, FOX Sports Go and New York Red Bulls Radio on TuneIn.
New York Red Bulls Radio begins at 9 p.m. ET with Countdown to Kickoff, presented by Honda, hosted by Matt Harmon and Steve Jolley.
New York travels to Banc of California Stadium for the first time. The Red Bulls defeated LAFC, 2-1, at Red Bull Arena in their first meeting. Daniel Royer recorded his third career brace to help lead the Red Bulls over the Black and Gold. New York has fared well against Western Conference opponents since 2018 as they own a 14-3-3 mark with a plus-22 goal differential (GF: 47; GA: 25).
The Red Bulls currently sit third in the Eastern Conference and just five points out with one game in hand for the top spot in the East. New York owns a combined 6-4-1 mark against current playoff teams in both the East and West. The Red Bulls are 4-1-0 against current Western Conference playoff teams and a 1-1-1 against West teams on the road.
New York held serve at Red Bull Arena against Toronto last Saturday, posting their sixth league clean sheet and second in the last three matches. Goalkeeper Luis Robles made three big saves en route to his sixth MLS shutout of the season and 69th career league clean sheet. Robles sits tied for eighth in the league in both shutouts and saves (64).
