Stream: UniMas, Paramount+ and Twitch (international)
Previous Result:
CHI: The Red Stars took down top ranked Kansas City Current 4-0 at home in Bridgeview. Mallory Pugh scored two goals, and Tatumn Milazzo and Amanda Kowalski each scored one to shut out the Current.
HOU: The Dash tied with Angel City 1-1 at home Sunday, September 11.
Storylines
Back To It: The Red Stars have had a long season of injuries and absences, creating a much more difficult second half of the season after ending a nine-game unbeaten streak in July. However, the Red Stars put up an impressive fight against top ranked Kansas City, ending a 13-game unbeaten streak for the Current and a five-game win streak in away games. The Red Stars now look to extend their unbeaten streak to four games against the Houston Dash.
Hello, Old Friends: Unlike Kansas City, the Houston Dash is not an expansion team and has been in the NWSL since 2014, giving the Red Stars plenty of opportunities to face off on the pitch. The Red Stars faced the Dash in Houston in July, falling 4-1, and twice during the 2022 Challenge Cup claiming 2-0 and 3-1 victories.
It's About That Time: With only three games left in the Red Stars' 2022 regular season, every point counts in the NWSL standings. The Red Stars are currently sitting in fifth with 30 points, tied with the Dash's identical record and points. Portland and San Diego are currently sitting at 31 points, and Kansas City is hanging on to the top spot with 32 points. However, OL Reign is close behind the Red Stars with 28 points. Fans are in for another exciting finish to the NWSL regular season.
