Atlanta and New York enter the match separated by two points in the Eastern Conference standings and sit in fourth and sixth place, respectively. Atlanta will look to extend its six-game winning streak at Mercedes-Benz Stadium following Wednesday's 5-1 loss at Chicago Fire. Atlanta is 4-1-1 in 2019 in MLS play following a loss and is 6-1-2 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
New York is coming off its worst defeat of the season in a 4-0 loss at Houston on Wednesday, July 3, which is the first time Red Bulls have lost by more than one goal this season. New York is 3-2-1 this season following a loss in league play and owns a 2-4-2 away record.
