ATLANTA - Atlanta United returns to action Saturday as the club travels to face Columbus Crew SC at MAPFRE Stadium. The match is scheduled to kick-off at 7:30 p.m. EST and will be televised on FOX Sports South. For more match information, please view game notes here.
Atlanta is 4-0-0 all-time against Columbus in regular season play and has outscored Crew SC 10-2 combined in four matches. The two clubs also met in the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs in 2017 with Columbus advancing on penalties. Atlanta is 2-0-0 against Crew SC at MAPFRE Stadium, both by a score of 2-0, and won both meetings in 2018: 3-1 at home and 2-0 at Columbus. Forward Tito Villalba leads Atlanta with five career goals versus Crew SC.
Atlanta is coming off a 1-1 draw vs. Philadelphia Union on March 17 before FIFA's international break. Philadelphia's Brenden Aaronson scored the game's opening goal in his MLS debut to give the visitors a 1-0 lead in the 47th minute. Second-half substitute Ezequiel Barco leveled the match just three minutes after coming on with a header to score his first goal of the season as Atlanta recorded its second consecutive 1-1 draw at home.
Columbus fell to Philadelphia Union 3-0 on the road March 23. David Accam scored twice before halftime for the Union and later assisted on Ilsinho's goal in the 48th minute to cap his man of the match performance and Philadelphia's first win of 2019. Columbus is 1-0-1 at home this season.
