Houston Dynamo FC News Release
HOUSTON - Houston Dynamo fans will have more access to their team than ever before thanks to the launch of the new Dynamo Digital platform, the club announced today. Dynamo Digital will feature weekly podcasts featuring coaches, players and other members of the technical staff and front office, as well as streaming audio on game days.
Head coach Wilmer Cabrera joined Glenn Davis and Lester Gretsch for the first episode of the Coach's Corner and La Charla Tecnica, presented by CenterPoint Energy, and defender Adam Lundkvist sat down with Davis for the first episode of the Player Spotlight show.
Cabrera touched on the X's and O's of building the roster for 2019 and the development of young stars Mauro Manotas and Memo Rodriguez in the first episode of the Coach's Corner. The Dynamo head coach also looks ahead to Saturday's game at Dick's Sporting Goods Park as the Dynamo visit a winless Colorado Rapids team desperate for their first victory.
Speaking of Rodriguez and his blistering start to the season, Cabrera said that the 23-year-old's talent is beginning to shine through as he's gained confidence. "We cannot block out the sun with our finger," Cabrera said to illustrate his point.
La Charla Tecnica, presented by CenterPoint Energy, is a Spanish podcast that will take fans inside the club as the team prepares for each game. Cabrera joined Grestch on the first episode to recap an unbeaten start to the MLS season and the challenges of balancing league play with the Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League. Entering his third year with the club, Cabrera also touched on the importance of securing points on the road and using the FIFA break to recharge after a congested block to open the year.
Lundkvist touched on life in his native Sweden and his favorite sport off the pitch in the first episode of the Player Spotlight. The Dynamo defender also pulled back the curtain on his all-time favorite Swedish player - it's not necessarily who fans might think - and that player's impact on his career. Turning his attention to the field, Lundkvist touched on preparing for his first full season with the club and the challenges that he overcame after joining the team last April.
Podcasts will be available weekly on HoustonDynamo.com/Podcasts.
