New Mexico Scorpions News Release

[RIO RANCHO N.M.]-In the franchise's 700th regular season game, Andrew Martin made 22 saves leading the Scorpions to a 1-0 victory on Friday night. It was Martin's second shutout of the season.

After a scoreless first period the Scorpions got the lone tally in the second. Chris Robertson walked the puck out from the corner and delivered a perfect pass to Kevin Harvey. As Harvey was being ripped down to the ice, he was able to get his stick on the puck and tip it into the net, giving the Scorps a 1-0 lead.

Harvey scores the game's lone goal.

The Scorps controlled the tempo throughout the majority of the game. Physical play in the defensive end helped Martin to his shutout. The one goal marked the lowest scoring game New Mexico has been involved in this season.

With 700 regular season games in the books, the Scorpions become one of only eight CHL teams to play at least that many contests. The Scorps hold 380-261-59 record in their 11 years in the ice.
