Andy Franck made 28 saves for the Hounds

ODESSA, TEXAS - The Youngstown SteelHounds snapped their six game road losing streak by defeating the Odessa Jackalopes by a score of 4-1 on Friday night. It is the Hounds first victory away from the Chevrolet Centre since December 7, 2007.

After a scoreless first period Eric Przepiorka tipped a Petr Pohl shot past Alexandre Vincent at 10:04 to put the Hounds up 1-0. Mike MacDonald tied the game 3:40 later to make it 1-1 after two periods.

Kirill Starkov scored his eighth goal of the year just 36 seconds into the third period to put the Hounds up 2-1. The Jackalopes gambled with two minutes to play by pulling their goalie while on the power play and it backfired as Petr Pohl scored an empty net, shorthanded goal to put the Hounds up 3-1. Kevin Jarman added another empty net goal with 1:08 left to finish the scoring and give the Hounds a 4-1 win. Andy Franck made 28 saves on 29 shots in the win.

Eric Przepiorka had a goal and two assists as did Petr Pohl. Przepiorka has a team leading 20 goals and has 48 points on the year. Pohl has 28 assists and 43 points on the season. Kevin Jarman and Kirill Starkov had a goal and an assist for the Hounds.

The Hounds improve to 24-14-2 (50 points) and stays in third place in the Northeast Division. The Hounds finish the trip on Saturday night when they visit the Oklahoma City Blazers at 8:35. All Hounds games are available on ESPN Radio 1240 and SteelHounds.com.
