Maroon Returns to Norfolk; Holland Recalled by Anaheim

ANAHEIM, Calif. - The Anaheim Ducks, NHL parent club of the Norfolk Admirals, have returned forward Patrick Maroon to the Admirals and have recalled forward Peter Holland from the Admirals.
Maroon, 6-foot-3, 231 pounds, has appeared in 45 games with Norfolk this season, recording 13 goals and 30 points with 108 penalty minutes. Maroon leads the Admirals in penalty minutes, is tied for the team lead in game-winning goals (3) and power play goals (7), and ranks third in points and assists (17). In 334 career AHL games between Norfolk, Syracuse and Adirondack/Philadelphia, Maroon has scored 105 goals and 258 points with 513 penalty minutes. He has also appeared in eight career Calder Cup Playoff games, posting one goal and three points.
The 24-year-old native of St. Louis, Missouri, has appeared in nine games with the Ducks this season, posting one goal and five penalty minutes while averaging 8:42 in ice time. He netted his first career NHL goal on Feb. 16 at Nashville. In 11 career NHL games, Maroon has one goal and seven penalty minutes. He was acquired by Anaheim from Philadelphia along with David Laliberte in exchange for Danny Syvret and Rob Bordson on November 21, 2010. Prior to turning pro, Maroon appeared in one season with OHL London, leading the 2007-08 Knights with 35 goals, 55 assists and 90 points in 64 games.
Holland, 6-foot-2, 192 pounds, leads the Admirals in goals and points this season. He has appeared in 42 games with Norfolk, registering 19 goals and 38 points with 66 penalty minutes. He netted his first career pro/AHL/Admirals hat trick last Friday night in a 6-2 win over the Charlotte Checkers at Scope. In 116 career AHL games between the Admirals and Syracuse Crunch, Holland has 45 goals and 106 points.
A 21-year-old native of Toronto, Ontario, Holland has appeared in five games with Anaheim this season, netting one goal with an even plus/minus rating and four penalty minutes while averaging 9:55 of ice time. In nine career NHL games with the Ducks, Holland has two goals and six penalty minutes.
Holland was selected by Anaheim in the first round (15th overall) of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft. In 256 career games with the OHL's Guelph Storm, he netted 103 goals and 257 points.
The Admirals are back at Scope this week for three games in four days. They face off against the Charlotte Checkers tomorrow at 7:15 p.m., the Hershey Bears on Friday at 7:30 p.m. and the Bears again on Saturday at 7:15 p.m. Tomorrow night's game against the Checkers is another Admirals Value Night, with Family Fun Packs and Student Rush Night tickets available.
