
Eric Wellwood Recalled by Philadelphia

The Adirondack Phantoms have announced that Eric Wellwood (F) has been recalled to the Philadelphia, according to general manager Paul Holmgren.
This is Wellwood's second call-up to the Flyers this season.
It is an early birthday present for the Windsor, Ontario native who turns 23 years old tomorrow. The third-year-pro Wellwood has played in 43 games with the Phantoms this season scoring 6-6-12. He has also appeared in 4 games from January 19-24 with the Flyers recording no points before being returned to the Phantoms.
Wellwood had a combined 55 games between Philadelphia and Adirondack last season with 14 goals and 16 assists. He had 9-12-21 in 33 games with Adirondack last year and also played in 24 games for Philadelphia scoring 5-4-9. He also played in 11 Stanley Cup Playoff games as well.
He scored his first career NHL goal on February 18, 2012 against Pittsburgh.
Eric is the younger brother of veteran Kyle Wellwood who has 465 career NHL games and 86 goals with Winnipeg, Vancouver, Toronto and San Jose.
The fans in Glens Falls have seen nine of this year's Adirondack Phantoms players advance to the Philadelphia Flyers including Brayden Schenn, Sean Couturier, Zac Rinaldo, Eric Wellwood, Tye McGinn, Andreas Lilja, Erik Gustafsson, Brian Boucher and Harry Zolnierczyk.
The Adirondack Phantoms return to action this weekend with home games on Friday and Saturday against the Springfield Falcons and Connecticut Whale. $2 Draft Beer Specials featured in Friday's game and Phantoms T-Shirts for the first 2,500 fans Saturday night.
