
Tokarski, Bulldogs Turn Down the Heat 2-0

Hamilton, Ontario - The Hamilton Bulldogs defeated the Abbotsford Heat 2-0 on Tuesday night at Copps Coliseum. Dustin Tokarski stopped all 27 shots he faced for his second-straight shutout and fifth of the season.
The first period was scoreless with the Bulldogs edging the Heat 9-8 in shots on goal.
The Bulldogs opened the scoring on a tally by Joey Tenute at 18:48 of the second frame. Tenute snapped a shot from the slot which found the top corner over the shoulder of Abbotsford Heat starting goaltender Leland Irving and bounced straight out. Abbotsford outshot Hamilton 10-6 in the second period.
Louis Leblanc added an empty netter on the power play at 19:26 of the final stanza to clinch the victory for the 'Dogs. The Heat outshot the Bulldogs 27-23 to end the game. The 'Dogs have won eight of their last 11 games and now improve to 14-0 when leading after two periods of play. Tokarski has stopped 166 of 173 shots in his six games as a Bulldog for a save percentage of .960 as well as sporting a goals against average of 1.18 in those six games. Tokarski has not surrendered a goal in 147 minutes and 19 seconds.
The Bulldogs' next game is against the Griffins in Grand Rapids on Friday, March 8th at 7:00 p.m. All 'Dogs games will be broadcast on Hamilton's Funny 820 (AM 820).
