
Marlies Release Rob LaLonde From PTO

Jeff Jackson, General Manager of the Toronto Marlies, announced today that the club has released defenceman Rob LaLonde from his professional try-out contract.
LaLonde, 26, appeared in nine games this season with Toronto, posting zero points and six penalty minutes. The 6'4, 210- pound, Williamsville, NY native made his Marlies debut on February 20 at Hamilton.
LaLonde played in nine AHL games earlier this season with the Iowa Chops and Syracuse Crunch collecting zero points and 10 penalty minutes.
The Marlies begin Round 1 of their North Division Semifinal series in Winnipeg on Wednesday night against the Manitoba Moose - AHL affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks - at 8:30 p.m. (ET) The Marlies will return home to play Game 3 at Ricoh Coliseum on Sunday with puck-drop scheduled for 4:00 p.m. The FAN 590 will air all Marlies playoff games as either a radio or web broadcast.
