Marlies announce 2006-07 radio broadcast schedule

The Toronto Marlies, in conjunction with AM 640 Toronto Radio, today announced their radio broadcast schedule for the upcoming 2006-07 American Hockey League season. AM 640 Toronto Radio, the radio home of the Maple Leafs and Marlies, will broadcast at least 43 games this season beginning with a pre-season game on September 29 at Rochester. The Marlies' season-opener on October 6 versus the Syracuse Crunch - AHL affiliate of the Columbus Blue Jackets -, (which is their home-opener at Ricoh Coliseum), will also be carried live.
"As the home of the Leafs, we're very pleased to be able to expose hockey fans to the future of their favourite NHL team. The Marlies bring excitement to the ice and to the airwaves. We're looking forward to another terrific season, and with the addition of the 2007 RBK Hockey AHL All-Star Classic at Ricoh, it's an extra 'win'," said Gord Harris, Program Director, AM 640 Toronto Radio. The station will have full coverage and live broadcasts of the league's All-Star festivities live from Ricoh Coliseum on January 28 & 29, 2007.
"We are excited to expand the number of Marlies' broadcasts on AM 640 Toronto Radio for the upcoming season. This provides our fans with more accessibility to follow their team as we embark on our second season in Toronto," said Marlies' Director of Business Operations Chris Gibbs.
