River Rats Team Up With Red Bull

The Albany River Rats and Red Bull present Red Bull's Crashed Ice tryouts. Tryouts will take place at Union College's Achilles Rink on Friday, September 22nd from 5:30pm - 9pm. All local Ice Skaters are encouraged to come out and tryout. Qualifiers will be entered into the Red Bull Crashed Ice Race at Boston City Hall on November 11th at 7pm. Nine winning skaters from the tryout at Achilles Rink will have the opportunity to move onto the finals along with a four-night stay in Boston.

The Red Bull Crashed Ice Race will feature 100 adrenaline junkies- both men and women, young and old racing down an intricate downhill ice course featuring whoops, stairs, bermed turns and narrow chutes. To come out on top in this cut throat competition you will need to use a combination of speed, skating skills, agility, strategy and strength. Each competitor will battle against three other skaters at once in bracketed heats, gunning hard to be the first to skate down the treacherous and unforgiving iced course in pursuit of their share of the $15K cash purse!
