Beloit Snappers OF Tyler Marincov has been promoted to the Stockton Ports (Hi-A), the third Snapper outfielder to join the Ports this season. Marincov is batting .261 on the season with 16 home runs and 64 RBI's.
Marincov, who earned the Midwest League Player of the Month award for his efforts in July, received the trophy in a presentation preceding Thursday night's game. The Orlando, Fla. native led the Midwest League in slugging percentage (.783), extra-base hits (20) and doubles in July. Marincov also tallied six home runs and 21 RBI's in the month, both third best in the MWL, and his batting average (.373) and total bases ranked second.
After being selected in the eighth round of the 2013 First-Year Player Draft out of the University of North Florida, Marincov began his professional career with the Vermont Lake Monsters, the Oakland Athletics' Short-Season A affiliate. Marincov batted .215 with three home runs and 20 RBI's in 62 games with the Lake Monsters before joining the Snappers for the 2014 season.
Marincov joins former Beloit teammate Jaycob Brugman in the Stockton outfield, while former Snapper OF Boog Powell serves a 50-game suspension for the Ports.
