Marcus Smart Scheduled to Make Hadlock Field Appearance

Portland, Maine- Boston Celtics first round draft pick Marcus Smart is scheduled to make an appearance at Hadlock Field on Saturday, August 30th when the Portland Sea Dogs host the Harrisburg Senators at 6:00 PM. Smart's appearance at Hadlock Field is presented by Asylum Sports Bar and Grill.
Smart will throw out the ceremonial first pitch and will be available to sign free autographs on photos provided by the Portland Sea Dogs for fans from 6:00 to 6:45 PM.
The Boston Celtics selected Smart, 20, in the first round (6th overall) in the 2014 NBA Draft out of Oklahoma State University.
In the 2013-2014 college season, the guard averaged 18.0 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 4.8 assists per game and led the Big 12 in steals where he recorded 89 and averaged 2.9 per game. Smart led the Cowboys to a 21-13 record and a #9 seed in the NCAA Tournament.
The Sea Dogs, the Double-A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox, have hosted several Boston athletes at the ballpark over the last few years including Steve Grogan (2008), Rob Gronkowski (2011), Patrick Chung (2012), Shawn Thornton (2012), Daniel Paille (2013), Rob Ninkovich (2013), Trot Nixon (2014) and Shane Vereen (2014)
