
Marcus Nash named Co-Offensive Player of the Week

Las Vegas, NV , March 16, 2004 â Las Vegas Gladiators' wide receiver Marcus Nash was named the Baby Ruth Real Deal Co-Offensive Player of the Week for his efforts in leading the Gladiators to a 65-64 win over the Arizona Rattlers on Sunday in Las Vegas. Nash shares the honor with San Jose SaberCat quarterback Mark Grieb.
Against the Rattlers, Nash set Gladiator records for receptions and receiving yards in a game, hauling in 16 passes for 192 yards and four scores. He also kept two drives alive with receptions on fourth-down conversions, one for a touchdown and one in the Gladiators game-winning overtime drive.
This is the first AFL Player of the Week honor for the second-year veteran out of Tennessee.
For the season, Nash leads the AFL with 56 receptions for 552 yards and 11 touchdowns. He has also rushed for two additional scores.
The Gladiators go back on the road this week in a Western Division showdown against the San Jose SaberCats, Saturday at HP Pavilion in San Jose. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 PM PT and all the action can be heard on ESPN Radio 920 with Andrew Siciliano and Mike Pritchard on the call.
