Grieb named Co-Offensive Player of the Week

SAN JOSE, Calif. (Mar. 16, 2004) – San Jose quarterback Mark Grieb was today named the Arena Football League's Baby Ruth Real Deal Co-Offensive Player of the week following his performance in the SaberCats' win over Colorado on Mar. 14.

Grieb earned a share of the honor after posting a perfect passer rating of 158.3 in San Jose's 55-35 win over the Crush. The seven-year veteran completed 82 percent of his passes (18-of-22) for 292 yards with six touchdowns and no interceptions.

The former UC Davis standout has a completion percentage of over 70 in all five games this season and has topped the 80 percent mark twice, including a team single-game mark of 85.7 (18-of-21) at Los Angeles on Feb. 22. Grieb currently leads the league in pass efficiency rating (138.8) and completion percentage (76.4).

Grieb shares his second career Offensive Player of the Week award with Las Vegas receiver/linebacker Marcus Nash, who set a team record and posted a league season-high with 16 receptions for 192 yards and four touchdowns in a 65-64 overtime win over Arizona on Mar. 14.

Georgia Force receiver/linebacker Dialleo Burks garnered ADT Defensive Player of the Week honors while New York Dragons receiver/defensive back Lincoln Dupree was tabbed U.S. Army Ironman of the week.
