Detroit Fury News Release

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. – On March 18, 2004 the Detroit Fury will host College Night and offer $10 tickets (regularly $25) to all college students. Students only need to show their school I.D. to take advantage of the discounts. The third home game of the season pits the Fury against the Austin Wranglers at 7:30 PM at The Palace of Auburn Hills with doors opening at 6:00 PM. Students will be able to take advantage of their "scholarly status" as the Fury have planned discounts throughout the evening. By flashing a university I.D., students will receive 50% off parking and 25% off Fury merchandise at the Palace Locker Room store. Students will also receive discounts on food and beverages (alcohol NOT included) at all concession stands with an I.D.

"We have a very young organization and we all remember how hard we worked during the week when we were in school," said Dave Wieme, director of operations for the Fury and a graduate of Oakland University. "Thursday night's were typically a night to kick back, get together with friends and set the tone for the rest of the weekend. Personally, I never scheduled classes for any earlier than noon on Fridays and I know it's still the same these days. With all the colleges we have in the area, we think it will be a great night."

The Detroit Fury, currently 2-2 on the season and in the midst of a two-game road trip, will use the March 18th game as a homecoming of sorts. The team has two players in particular who have local ties: Dawan Moss who played for the Spartans of Michigan State and Jon McCall who was a Chippewa at Central Michigan.

"You know, I've heard Dawan and Jon talking, and that's all it is – talk," said Wieme. "They tell me how great their schools are and how much support they get and how great their fans are...blah, blah, blah. The fact is, Oakland U's football program has been undefeated since the school opened. I'm so confident that O.U. will have the largest presence, that I am considering changing the Fury colors to black and gold for that night."

For more information regarding College Night or to purchase tickets for any upcoming home game, please contact the Palace at (248) 377-0100 or log on to the Detroit Fury Web site at www.detroitfury.com.
