New Orleans VooDoo News Release

The New Orleans VooDoo placed WR/DB Luke Leverson on the injured reserve list with a right shoulder injury suffered in last Friday's contest against the Detroit Fury. To take Leverson's place on the active roster, the team has announced the signing of veteran WR/DB Kerry Hayes from the practice squad. Hayes was signed to the New Orleans practice squad on Feb. 3.

* Hayes (5-9, 180, Western Carolina), is a five-year AFL veteran who spent part of the 2003 season on the practice squad of the Georgia Force. Hayes played for VooDoo coach Mike Neu with the Carolina Cobras in 2002, where he appeared in seven games and recorded a career-high 22 catches for 183 yards and one touchdown. During his five-year AFL career, Hayes has posted 72 receptions for 798 yards with eight touchdowns.

Leverson will be eligible to come off of the injured reserve list for the VooDoo-Orlando Predators game on April 9.
