VooDoo Set Roster For 2008

The New Orleans VooDoo trimmed their roster to 24 players today to meet the Arena Football League mandated limit. Following the conclusion of training camp on Thursday, February 21, the club is now in preparations for their Friday, February 29 opener at the Los Angeles Avengers, continuing practice on Tuesday and Wednesday before departing on Thursday.
Today, the team activated OL Adam Metts from injured reserve, waived/injured WR Sale Key, released FB/DL Ricky Hall and placed DL Damien Bauman and OL Chad Setterstrom on injured reserve. Bauman and Setterstrom will not be eligible to be activated to the roster until the fifth game of the season.
The club will also have a four-player practice squad. Today, the club signed DB Stephen Barrett, OL Gary Jenkins and WR Tiger Jones to the practice squad. All three players participated in VooDoo training camp and had been waived by the team on Friday, February 22.
New Orleans and the Avengers open the 2008 AFL season at the STAPLES Center on Friday, February 29 at 9:30 p.m. The game will be regionally televised on CST and can be heard on Bayou 95.7 FM.
