VooDoo aim for fourth striaght win on road at Colorado
March 25, 2008 - Arena Football League (1987-2008) (AFL I)
New Orleans VooDoo News Release
After a perfect three-game homestand that catapulted them to the top of the Southern Division, the New Orleans VooDoo will travel to the Rocky Mountains to face the Colorado Crush on Sunday, March 30 at 3:00 p.m. New Orleans continued their winning ways, when they exploded for 21-0 first quarter lead and went on to a 63-24 victory over the previously unbeaten Cleveland Gladiators on Friday at the New Orleans Arena.
A stingy VooDoo defense did not allow the Gladiators to score in two quarters, holding them to the lowest point total of an opponent in club history. The margin of victory was also the largest in team annals. Defensively, New Orleans forced five turnovers, including four interceptions, the highest-single game total for the team. DB Calvin Spears led the way with a career-high three picks to set a team mark.
QB Danny Wimprine became only the tenth AFL player to win his first three starts, as he directed an efficient VooDoo offense, completing 19 of 26 passes for 235 yards with four TD passes. WR James Jordan had 11 receptions for 113 yards with one score.
