GRAND RAPIDS - After helping the Rampage post the second highest single-game point total in Arena Football League history yesterday (March 24), Grand Rapids quarterback James MacPherson (Tucson, Ariz.) has been named the league's Co-Offensive Player of the Week. The honor marks only the second such award in Rampage history.

In Monday's 92-52 road victory over the Kansas City Brigade, MacPherson connected on 24 of 27 passes for 307 yards and nine touchdowns, which tied a Rampage single-game record set by Clint Dolezel on June 15, 2002, against the Los Angeles Avengers. MacPherson led Grand Rapids to touchdowns on 10 consecutive drives and helped the team post the highest point total by a road team in AFL history.

Even more noteworthy, MacPherson achieved the numbers in just three quarters of action, as he was relieved by Adrian McPherson (Bradenton, Fla.) to start the fourth quarter with the game well in hand. MacPherson's 153.6 single-game passer rating led all quarterbacks last week, and his overall 137.4 rating tops the AFL as well.

MacPherson shares the Offensive Player of the Week award with Philadelphia Soul receiver Chris Jackson, who totaled 167 receiving yards on 10 catches, including six for touchdowns in his team's 71-34 victory over the Avengers. Los Angeles will visit MacPherson and the Rampage this Sunday (March 30), with kickoff slated for 2:00 p.m. EDT.
